Frequently Asked Questions
How quickly can you do an MOT?
MOTs take approximately 45 minutes to complete. You are welcome to wait in our comfortable waiting area should you need to use your vehicle immediately after the MOT has been completed.
How long can I safely leave it without having my vehicle serviced?
You should consult your service manual for the period specified by your car’s manufacturer, as vehicles differ when it comes to servicing intervals. Of course, regular servicing will extend the life of your vehicle and regular servicing will protect the resale value of your car so we recommend that you have your vehicle serviced in line with the manufacturer’s recommendations.
Is your work fully guaranteed?
It certainly is. We’re confident enough to state that all mechanical repairs are guaranteed for a minimum of 12 months or 12000 miles.
My insurance company tells me that I have to use one of their `approved repairers’ to get the bump repaired on my car. Am I able to bring it to you instead?
Yes you can. You are legally entitled to have your car repaired by whoever you choose. We are insurance approved so you know you will get the job done to the highest standard.
To book your vehicle in for a repair call us on 01480 414411 and speak to one of our friendly team.
Will you provide me with a courtesy car?
Yes, subject to availability, we can provide you with a fully insured courtesy car, but we do recommend you notify us of your need for a courtesy car at the time of booking.
Remember though that we also offer a free collection and delivery facility for customers based in Huntingdon. Please note this is a free collection / delivery for customer’s car only. Courtesy cars are only available for collection / drop-off at Romans Garage Services.
Do you service and repair any make and model of vehicle?
At Romans Garage Services we have skilled automotive technicians who can service and repair any make and type of car, including light vans and all 4x4s. However, we don’t do heavy commercial vehicles or farm machinery.
How much is it going to cost to get my car serviced?
Servicing costs vary from vehicle to vehicle due to the varying cost of oils and parts. However, you can rest assured that our prices will be competitive and up to 50% cheaper than if you were to use a main dealer.
Can I bring my new car to you for servicing or am I forced to use the main dealer until the warranty expires?
Yes, you can bring it to us. Servicing restrictions were lifted in May 2004 by the Office of Fair Trading under a ruling called Block Exemption. In short, Block Exemption means that you can now take your car to any independent garage to have it serviced and repaired, provided everything is carried out in line with the manufacturer’s guidelines.
